My first Blog

So here I am!! Ready to enter the Bloggers community .From last four months or so, I have been reading the blogs. Read a lot of them but never gave it a thought to write one myself. Basically I am good at writing, but more comfortable in my mother tongue i.e Hindi. Now as I decide, to increase my expertise over the world’s most influential language, I am here. I see blogs as another revolution of internet technology where one can have access to thoughts from the whole world. It is going to be yet another powerful source of expressing yourself sooner or later. A glimpse of it has been seen in the US elections and then the Katrina where the coverage on it was better in blogs than many of the esteemed newspapers. What makes blogs even more powerful from other media is its accessibility.

Today I came to meet a interesting personality …Sandeepan deb an alumnus of IIT Kgp and IIM C and the author of the famed book the iitians. It is always interesting to meet who have passed through our stage. Neways what’s interesting about him ,is that he worked in ITC one of the FMCG majors in India for nearly 5-6 years and then he left his Job He left his job and joined outlook at nearly half of his salary at ITC to pursue his interest in  writing. Now 12 years later he is still there, in the same profession . In the mean time, he also became the editor of outlook, one of the print media majors in India. One has to be really courageous to leave a job which may be a dream for many people. It’s really important in one’s life to decide upon what he wants to do rather than just running behind money and fame.

The whole story makes me to think upon the point - how is the success of a person determined. Is it determined by the number of houses a person owns or no. of zeros his bank balance shows or number of cars he owns or  by something else. I have seen and read about many people who spend all their live running behind money ruining their family lives to finally realize they have gained nothing. Many of us even don’t know what they want to do in their lives. Many of us know this but couldn’t gather that much courage to move out and try out new things. By the time they realize this, its too late and finally they end up into the sharan of so called adhyatmik gurus. No matter why books like monk with a Ferrari thrive big volumes.
